Our Choral Speaking Team!

Hello peeps! Have you watched the video I shared above? Any comments?

Well, sadly to say, we didn't win the competition due to a few rules and regulations we failed to obey (I will explain the reasons behind each rules that we broke, they aren't an excuse okay! just so you'll be more clear of the situation we're in since you're not there with us) :

1. The use of blazers with two ribbon lines :
- We actually borrowed the blazers from other schools (primary schools) coz we didn't have enough blazers for all 31 participants of our choral speaking team so the two ribbon lines are actually not our own choice. Moreover, we DIDN'T know that any accessories on the blazer are not allowed for choral speaking competition. This is our first time (for both trainers) training and bringing the students for a competition, we're NEW to the field.

2. The use of corsage on the blazers :
- The reason why we use a corsage and pinned it to the students' blazer is actually coz we want to COVER the other school badge (the school that we borrowed the blazers from). Besides, we have NO IDEA that the use of such accessories are NOT allowed. Poor us.

3. Calling names which is considered sensitive :
- The 'name' I'm referring to is actually an Indian way of calling a boy or a man (Dei Macha!). The funny thing is my trainer partner is actually an Indian lady who explained that the use of Dei Macha! is not a negative thing for the Indian society and has nothing to do with any kind of racism. So, hello! Can this reason be accepted when in fact, even the Indian people did not take perceive it the way the judges do.

4. The singing :
- We thought that the singing part will be our advantage coz we showed some creativity in presenting our choral speaking but unfortunately it worked against us. What's more disappointing is the fact that the organizer DID NOT state anything about this rule. So, how can we know??

As a whole, of course we are disappointed with the result but this does not mean we are giving up. WE'RE NOT! We will take this loss as a lesson to make us better in the future. For me, I'm proud to say that we had put our very best effort for this competition, no regrets. We have gained a valuable experience in the field and I believe in the next competition, we will work harder and prove to everyone that we can win. To SMKKJ's community, especially my sporting friends Miss Latifah Jalilul & Mdm Irmawaty Rapping who came to support us even though they were rushing to go to school today. Thanks a lot Tipah and Kak Irma! Love you guys!
